This permits an indexed adjustment from two different points of reference for height adjustment (top and bottom). The stem is composed of two carbon arms retained by an aluminum collar. This fork however remains one of the narrowest profiles as it does not require the use of a conventional steerer tube design. LOOK's offset aero fork design was one of the first of its kind and remains one of the most mimic'd front fork designs in the industry. The integrated indexed stem creates a ultra-stiff cockpit. When you look at the frame head-on, the frame almost visually disappears behind the fork. It is extremely important that all frame components are studied as a unit when aerodynamic testing is done. The offset aero LOOK fork was the object of the same aero research that was carried out on the frames. This is accomplished by the reversible saddle cradle which can be oriented 360º. This E-Post is reversible and utilizes a 360° multi-directional saddle adjustment clamping system. EASY ANGLE SEAT ADJUSTMENT : With only one easily accessible bolt, the clamps can be loosened and the seat can be adjusted.The R32 adjustable E-POST offers +/- 32mm fore-aft adjustment relative to the seat tube axis. The saddle can be positioned +/-32mm in the forward/ backward direction from seat tube centre line. REVERSIBLE : Steepens seat tube angle to an effective 76° angle on a road frame when intended for a more tri specific position. The firmest elastomer: the black colour grade provides the same déflection as the 2007 Road E-Post, with only one 3-mm elastomer to filter the vibrations. The two other elastomer units (grey or red) provide greater vibration dampening. High deformation = maximum comfort (Diagram 1). The use of three elastomer grades of different densities make it possible to adjust the vibration transmission. ![]() The addition with a specific designed indexed stem adds a stiffer and responsive front end for steering precision.Įlastomer blocks absorb the vibrations through a slight inflection of the seatpost backwards, thus greatly improving cyclist comfort. The most flexible elastomer (grey) provides the same déformation ratio as a conventional LOOK Ergopost 4 seatpost at maximum height. The 596 fork was designed to act as a fairing. The Offset LOOK Aero Fork has an important function as it is the part of the bike that penatrates the air first. The ZED is also compatable with 110mm and 130mm bolt patterns to accomodate a compact or a standard setup. The Trilobe technology enables the triathlete to choose the crankarm length 170, 172,5 or 175 mm without changing the actual crankarms. ![]() The crankarms alone (not including bearings and chainrings) only weights 320 grams ! The ZED crankset has a special shape to it that is mounted into a specific oversized 65mm bottom bracket. The rigidity/weight ratio was difficult to achieve until the arrival of the ZED crankset. This is a true monobloc crankset (2 crankarms + axle = FULL MONOBLOC). The Carbon ZED cranks is delivered with the 596. There are 5 lengths available for the Triathlete to fine tune the cockpit. The stem is adjustable by rotating carbon arms and the height can be fined tuned by the upper or lower inserts. The carbon stem is composed of 2 carbon arms aluminium collar. This technique allows for a greater contact surface and therefore making it more durable & stiffer where the parts are connected. The junction of the seat stays is also a new technique using a flat surface to act as a carbon plate. This is a new concept with 2 wishbones a left and a right: left & right half of the seat & chain stays. ![]() The 596 was manufactured in a special way in order to obtain the stiffness and aerodynamic shape.
